# How to read a record — Food establishment inspections in Wake County, North Carolina

> What the record is, what the status means, and what is left out.

## How to read these records

### The record

Wake County inspects restaurants, food stands, school lunchrooms, meat markets and mobile food units, and publishes two separate files: the establishments, and every inspection since 2012 under an ID number with no name. This site joins the two on that ID: one record per establishment, with the latest score and the number of inspections on file.

### Status

Open food establishment in the County file. A score describes one visit on one day, not the business today. Scores are out of 100. Inspector names and comments are not shown. Establishments that have closed are not in the County's list and are not here.

### What is not here

Individuals, and any name without a company word (Inc, LLC, Corp, Co…). Owner and contact names, phone numbers
and mailing addresses, which this site never downloads.

**For owners and managers: does
your company have 30 to 200 employees?**

AI labs pay companies to license their internal workflows (SOPs,
documentation, support tickets), anonymized and under contract. You keep ownership and pay nothing.
